Instructions for Application to CPEP and ACGME Fellowships

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for the relevant accredited training pathway (CPEP and/or ACGME, as applicable).  See further description of our Fellowship Training Pathways and Program.

Our CPEP-accredited Clinical Microbiology Fellowship also has a strong track record of training doctoral-level scientists sponsored by the U.S. military, including Army officers supported through Long-Term Health Education and Training (LTHET). Eligible PhD scientists from all military branches are encouraged to apply through their respective service education and training pathways. Military-sponsored fellows remain on active duty, receive full salary and benefits, and complete the fellowship as a full-time clinical training assignment. Prospective military applicants should contact the Program Director, James Kirby, prior to submitting an application to discuss eligibility, sponsorship mechanisms, and alignment with service requirements. Applicants accepted into the fellowship are required to submit a formal application through the American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM) website as part of the standard CPEP training process.
